The books you will find in DesertFlame's catalog are meant to explore what it is to be human, to get a look inside the mind, the experience, the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs of another human being who shares space with you on this dusty planet Earth, and to get advice, how-to instructions, and insights from human intelligence. To that end there is no AI in any of the writing you will find within DesertFlame books. All respect to Siri, Alexa, Claude and their cohorts, but the human experience is not something a non-human can grasp, nor are idiomatic expressions, regional language patterns, and an author's unique voice. No book you choose to read from DesertFlame had any non-human input, not idea suggestions, not grammar, nor editing help.

The authors we represent each have a powerful message, a love of their topic, and a sincere desire to communicate their ideas.

PURPOSE

DesertFlame was founded in January of 2026 as a solution for both authors, readers, and society in general. In a world where publishing is being democratized, individuality and human connection are being diluted from the gene pool of written works, and smarmy cons are inserting a "pay-to-play" dimension to publishing that drains both creativity and money from earnest writers, there is a need for independent publishing houses. It is a blurry world out there now, but here at DesertFlame there is clarity: real books written by real people about real topics, chosen for the catalog at DesertFlame based on merit alone.

AUTHOR SUBMISSIONS

Submissions are accepted year round. DesertFlame is looking for books that explore the human condition and connect people to ideas, be that how-to, memoir, fiction, fantasy, poetry, history, experimental, etc. We are open to all genres. The books most likely to be accepted express the author’s authentic voice and open readers eyes to possibilities. We are not looking for books which have a non-human writing style. Any use of editing software, or language generation will result in the material being returned.
